Watching the news can be challenging
given how easy it is to feel anxious, depressed, and hopeless about the
future of the planet and humanity. There are many large looming problems like
climate change, reproductive rights, and the divisive hatred expressed by so
many people.
Such big
global issues can make us feel as if there’s little we can do personally to
make enough of a difference. We can feel powerless, unsafe in the world and
that the planet is under a constant threat.
It can look bleak when only focusing on the negative, and especially when
feeling as if we’re single-handedly responsible for fixing things. However,
while the negative things are happening, there are also positive things
happening out in the world as well when we take the time to look.
We can also affect
positive change internally. When we let go of control, we start to relax beyond
our anxiety. Relaxing into inner safety is more powerful and impactful than
control. When we relax deeply enough and feel safe within, we can touch the
inherent light and luminous hope that’s already there within us.
We can trust
the positive spiral of evolution, which always moves towards greater goodness. When
we’re in a more relaxed and hopeful state, life is worth living. Every time we
return to luminous hope and limitless light, we radiate it out into the world
and effortlessly have a great impact in helping the world become new.
