When we watch what’s happening in the world, it can seem very bleak, and as if we have no choice in what’s happening. The insanity, turmoil and destruction of the fabric of our current reality are all too evident. Perhaps less obvious is the simultaneous weaving of a new fabric. Yet it’s happening too.
For eons, we have been living in a damaging system of domination and divisiveness. It operates through power over for the sake of power, better than/less than comparisons, winners versus losers, right/wrong, and us against them. It produces anxiety, depression, fear, envy, victimization, greed, etc.
This is a very challenging time to live through because this dying beast is not going to lie down and die quietly. It’s easy to become distracted and caught up in the intensity of its dying fireworks and miss the empowering choices that are available to each of us.
This destructive operating system exists not only in the world, but in each of us. It’s now being exposed more fully than ever and is failing because it doesn’t include anything but itself. But there’s infinitely more than its narrow point of view. Becoming aware of its righteous exclusivity is key to a new win/win reality. This old lose/lose reality is in the process of destroying itself because when there’s only one perspective, there is no choice.
Our power is in making the choice to include the old dominating system while simultaneously opening into experiencing what’s beyond that. It’s where peace, safety, wonder, magic, love, dignity, belonging, wisdom, compassion, grace, etc. reside. The contrast between the different paradigms is extreme, and there is choice.
Authentic choice is not choosing between different realities but including the old system as part of all that is, while leaning into the expansiveness beyond it. This means including even what we don’t like or agree with, since everything is part of the whole. Regardless of our personal preferences, when we accept and include the presence of all as it is, there’s peace, lightness and freedom.
Consciously making the choice of inclusivity empowers us. We throw away the power of choice when we insist on things only being MY way and no other way. Then, there is no choice and no empowerment. Knowing we have a choice, then consciously making the choice again and again in the face of the constant seduction of the old is challenging, but wonderfully empowering.
Since we are always choosing whether we know it or not, consciously choosing to include all has enormous power in changing us. As we change, it has enormous impact in changing the world as well.

- choose to lean into inclusivity and compassion
- receive from the future beyond our imagination
