Living Beyond Our Fear Stories
It seems that there is so much to be afraid of in the world, and most people live in reaction to what they are afraid of. What if we could respond to what we are afraid of differently and also live a life that isn’t based in fear?
Most of the fear that we experience comes from fear-based stories rather than authentic fear. Fear-based stories are repetitive and lead to unending anxiety that keeps recycling.
When the mind becomes preoccupied with fear-based stories that we believe are real, we lose touch with who we really are. Being caught up in our fear-based stories causes terrible suffering when we believe they are reality. However, beyond our fear stories are wondrous experiences of our infinite nature.
Once we recognize that we have fear-based stories, it doesn’t work to try to fix or get rid of them. Nor does it work to try to replace negative stories with positive ones.
When we can notice these stories and the painful impact they have, we can bring forgiveness and include their presence with kindness while not letting them dominate our attention.
Then, we can refocus on opening into the infinite realms which are there waiting for us. This is an empowering choice that lets us experience who we truly are. Who we are cannot be explained intellectually, but we can experience the essence and mystery that we are.
In this workshop we will:
• identify our most common fear-based stories
• accept their presence without agreeing with them
• discover the infinite realms of who we are beyond those stories
The workshop lasts 90 minutes.
