Deepening Love In Relationships

Write your awesome label here.
Our need for love is profound, and relationships provide a powerful vehicle for facing our own beliefs about love. Even though love is always available, when we believe it isn’t there, it’s impossible to find, we don’t deserve it or it’s threatening, these beliefs can create an experience of lack.

It’s easy to see where other people are limiting themselves with illusory beliefs, but it’s not always as easy to identify our own. Often, instead of inquiring into our own misperceptions, we blame, judge, or try to fix another person so they can finally meet our needs.

Being present in our heart is what allows for fulfillment. In fact, we don’t even have to like everything about ourselves or another person to love. When we reject, push away from, or make demands we reinforce our loneliness. When we fight to prove that our perspective is right, that cheap hit of false power becomes more important than opening our heart.

To move into our heart, we can focus on the inherent goodness of a person as distinct from their behavior. We can love a person while not liking or agreeing with how they are acting. When you approach a person without blame, but rather with clarity and compassion, change can happen. When love becomes more important than being right about how another person is wrong, new possibilities arise.

When we accept, include, honor and make all sacred, we open into a more profound kind of love. This love arises from inclusivity and compassion for all that is, even when and especially when we don’t like something as it is. The tender kindness within this kind of love allows for a continual deepening of emotional intimacy with our own greater nature and with all as it is.

Anamika and her partner Greg will share examples from their own relationship in taking responsibility for including all parts of themselves and each other, even the parts they think they don’t like. This shift from “rightness” to realness deepens love.

In this workshop we will:
  • identify our illusory beliefs about love
  • become more aware of the demands we place on ourselves and others
  • connect with the inherent goodness in ourselves and each other
  • open to experience inclusive love

The workshop lasts 90 minutes.
