Are We Going to Make It?

Given all the violence occurring in the world, it’s easy to wonder, “Are we going to make it?” The world currently isn’t safe because it’s been born of millennia of humanity ruthlessly dominating to have power and control over others.

However, is the world inherently unsafe, or is it our beliefs that have caused it to be that way? When we say it’s the world that isn’t safe, we give away the possibility of accessing a state of inner safety, and thus we justify staying defended. When we can recognize that it’s our inner beliefs that have created an unsafe world out there, then we can open to a new inner experience that would create a loving, supportive, safe world externally.

Most people think safety comes from outside and thus they have never experienced safety as an inner emotional experience. If safety comes from outside, then we believe we have to put stronger bars on the windows or get more money to make ourselves safe. Regardless of the precautions we take we never really feel safe, so we shut down harder and buy a bigger gun. But this doesn’t provide a feeling of safety either.

Can you imagine feeling genuinely safe and that all your needs are met? Moving into a field of peaceful safety allows for a new experience. The tension in the body dissolves, the clench in the gut softens, and the overly anxious mind becomes still. “Right here, right now in this moment I’m not being threatened in any way, I’m safe.” From that experience of inner safety, we can effectively respond to outer circumstances rather than just react from survival fears.

When we consider that our outer safety is a reflection of an inner state of safety, we can be open hearted, open minded and undefended because we are inherently safe. When we are feeling emotionally safe in the present, that frequency creates outer safety. From a state of inner safety, we can live safely in a world that is not yet safe, and help it evolve into a new world that is safe for everyone.

In this workshop we will:
• Identify our personal beliefs in lack of safety
• Explore our lives beyond survival fears
• Experience what safety feels like as an energetic, emotional experience
• Re-imagine our lives and our world from a starting point of inner safety
